Internships
Need some real-world experience on your resume? Want to see what it’s like working with nonprofits? Eager to find out what terms like ‘Duck of the Week’ or ‘Dumbo 500’ mean? Perhaps you’d be a fit for our internship program, then?
What kind of Duck are you?
Big Duck offers internships in the following areas:
- Strategy: assisting Strategists with research and planning.
- Design: assisting Designers with, well, design. And production. Maybe coding, too.
- Copywriting: assisting Copywriters with writing and editing.
- Marketing: keeping Big Duck’s marketing and business development systems flowing.
- Administration: offering office support wherever it’s most needed.
What’s in it for you?
Interns get practical experience in a professional but shamelessly fun environment. You’ll sleep well at night knowing you’re helping nonprofit organizations communicate more effectively. (We all sleep like babies here.)
Interns work a minimum of two and up to five days a week on-site at our Brooklyn office. We’ll sort out the schedule together based on what you want and what we’ll need.
Interns will work on a variety of projects for Big Duck and/or our clients under the direction of senior staff members. You’ll also be given assignments to help you build your knowledge and experience in nonprofit communications. To make sure you’re learning, you’ll meet with your supervisor on a regular basis to check on progress, go over projects, and set goals for after your internship.
Big Duck is a great place for an intern to learn practical, tangible skills while working with a team of inspired people. In addition to helping us and our clients, you’ll enjoy the sights and sounds of fabulous Brooklyn. Won’t your mom be proud?
Big Duck internships are paid. Having your help allows us to experiment and test the boundaries at no cost to our clients. We’ll work hard to make sure you benefit by learning, building your portfolio and resume, and making valuable connections. We promise you won’t spend your days here filing. We’ll also give you the occasional snack and an experience you’re sure to learn from.
