Farra Trompeter

Farra Trompeter,

vp, client relationships + strategy

Making connections to create change.

Why I work at Big Duck:

The people. The passion. The projects.

What I think is just ducky:

My kitty, IMDB, Bloody Mary’s with extra olives, activist types, sushi, hugs (not drugs)

What really ruffles my feathers:

Bigots, never-ending car alarms at 3am, paying for Internet access in cafes, pastrami

Life before Big Duck:

I was born an activist on Strong Island (aka Brooklyn East), organizing to end hunger, prevent drunk driving, and fight other wrongs. I attended American University, and my penchant for talking to strangers led me to fundraising and social marketing for the National Breast Cancer Coalition, Planned Parenthood, and some federal public health campaigns. I moved to San Francisco and dove into the wonderful world of online strategy. I connected with Donordigital, where I learned how to take supporters beyond the click for American Lung Association, Girl Scouts, and UNICEF. I returned to New York to master the science of nonprofit management at The New School and lead online engagement efforts for Douglas Gould and Company. I’m also a proud board member of the NYC Gay & Lesbian Anti-Violence Project, and I chair the (you guessed it…) Communications Committee.
