project coordinator

Passionate communicator, non-profit advocator

Why I work at Big Duck:

To show nonprofits the love as they go through their growth spurts, life cycle changes, and other challenges. Also to marvel at the staff’s blazing talent and exchange witty banter during stand-up meetings.

What I think is just ducky:

Miniature versions of full-sized products (i.e. mini Coke bottles), seeing-eye dogs (they’re such dignified creatures), the beaches in Sicily, Zumba, and all things carbohydrate

What really ruffles my feathers:

Drivers who cut you off only to reach the red light two seconds before you, people who litter and litterbugs (the word, I mean; it makes them sound too cute), walking an excessive amount, the dearth of comfortable yet stylish shoes

Life Before Big Duck:

A product of Long Island suburbia, I decided to expand my horizons in Boston, where I completed a dual Masters in Gender and Cultural Studies and Communications Management at Simmons College. Three years later, I found myself back on “Strong Island” with a mouthful of academic credentials and a hefty bill. Having worked at Let’s Get Ready (a college access nonprofit) for just over three years, first managing programs and then delving into the wacky world of fundraising, I thought it was time to embark on a new journey into the communications field. Lo and behold, I couldn’t bring myself to get too far away from Planet 501(c)3, and I now get my nonprofit fix working for Big Duck, where my dastardly plan to save the world can continue.
