Sonny Mui

Sonny Mui,

senior art director

Pictures...words...pretty.

Why I work at Big Duck:

All those diabolical, devious art direction and design skills I’ve picked up over the years I get to use for good. What can I say? I’m an idealist at heart.

What I think is just ducky:

Katz’s pastrami, NYC, a morning cup of joe, inappropriate humor, a well-used expletive

What really ruffles my feathers:

“MTA: Going Your Way” (really?). Eating too much of the wrong kinds of food. Rude people.

Life before Big Duck:

I’m a proud, native New Yorker, trying to fight the various neuroses that come with the territory. I graduated from Pratt Institute, where I studied architecture and communications design. After that, I worked in various advertising and marketing agencies, including FCB and Upshot New York. Most recently I helped to develop the “Hip Hop Culture Center in Harlem” as part of the city’s first Hip Hop Week. The joys of my day now include looking at all those wonderful ads on the subway ride to work.
