Why I work at Big Duck:
Great people helping great causes? With pretty logos? Sold.
What I think is just ducky:
"In Our Time" by Melvyn Bragg. Country music. Food and food blogs. Joss Whedon (sigh).
What really ruffles my feathers:
People who flout subway etiquette. Politicians who think yelling is a substitute for actual solutions. Pears. Anyone touching my collarbone. Ever.
Life before Big Duck:
I was born and raised in Waco, Texas—and I’ve been coming up with excuses for it for decades. (Though, fun fact: We ARE the birthplace of Dr. Pepper and Steve Martin.) After hightailing it out of town and majoring in human biology at Stanford, I stumbled happily into the world of online fundraising and advocacy. Since then, I’ve been lucky enough to help nonprofits like Earthjustice, Human Rights Campaign, and UNICEF raise money and awareness online. Today I live in Brooklyn, work with Big Duck’s amazing clients by day, work on my illustrations by night—and constantly search for new duck puns.
