Me again! Liz is back this week but busy grappling with her post-vacation inbox, so here’s my take on the weekly roundup for you.

• Social media’s power to suck your time away potentially got even greater last week, with Facebook announcing live video chat. But never fear! In a guest post on Katya’s Nonprofit Marketing Blog, Dana Ziolkowski shares three tips to help you avoid wasting your workday away in the social media time suck.
• Are social media sites also sucking people away from spending time on websites? According to data released by Google Analytics, on average, people are spending less time on websites now than they were two years ago. How do your website’s stats compare?
• If you’ve spent much time around teenagers and suspected that they’d rather text people than talk to them, your suspicions are partly correct: a recent survey of teens about their texting habits found that 71 percent preferred texting to phone calling. Time for your organization to start thinking about a mobile strategy? Very possibly.
• What’s a major donor? Like most nonprofits, your organization probably defines major donors by gift size. Over at Connection Café, Lynn Howes suggests it might be time to rethink that definition, and recommends ten tips for talking with major donors to build long-lasting relationships.
