Creating an online destination for religious leaders
Homepage

Client Challenge
Auburn Theological Seminary’s old website was outdated and difficult for staff to maintain. Auburn wanted their new site to state clearly what they do, serve as a valuable resource and forum for religious leaders, and make it easy and compelling to support Auburn’s work.
Creative Thinking
Big Duck created the strategy, structure, and design for an interactive new website that reflected Auburn’s updated brand and messaging. We helped Auburn organize and present their many programs clearly, and designed a fresh, compelling homepage that features an up-to-date slideshow, as well as live feeds of news and social media activity.
The Results
Auburn’s new website now serves as a virtual campus—a destination for leaders of all faiths, full of resources and opportunities for conversation. Not only is the new site more fully-featured and vibrant, it’s also a lot easier to maintain. The new open-source content management system and constituent relationship management system make it simple for staff to keep the homepage slideshow up to date, add and edit content, and keep in touch with site visitors and supporters.
“A hallmark of Auburn from its beginning—almost two hundred years ago—has been the practice of taking theological education outside the seminary. The website Big Duck developed has given us a ‘virtual campus’ and has helped us use technology to extend that practice even more actively.”
