In 2005, The Foundation for Jewish Camping was doing great work with camp professionals around the country, but its communications materials looked dated and felt confusing. Big Duck’s brandraising work gave them a fresh look and set the stage for serious growth.
Campfires and challah: summer camp builds Jewish continuity
Visual identity

The Project
Big Duck paired a simplified name (Foundation for Jewish Camp’ versus ‘Camping’) with the tagline, “Community by the Cabinful.” The organization’s new logo set the stage for sub-brands, including a camper incentive grant called “One Happy Camper,” which we helped refine in 2010. Applying the new visual identity to fundraising collateral, programs materials, and even the office décor brought the fun of camp and the power of Jewish community to life.
The Results
“Our identity helped us overcome communications obstacles the organization had struggled with for years. It also rallied our staff, who love working with the new brand. More recently, it’s helped us attract new staff, exciting program partners, and passionate donors.”
-Rina Goldberg, Director of Communications from 2005 to 2010
