Campaign concept and direct mail

By taking the leap away from a traditional direct mail into multi-channel fundraising, the National Military Family Association found they could increase year-end returns by nearly 60%.

The Project

In order to build a cohesive and compelling multi-channel year-end appeal, Big Duck developed the "Stand Behind Military Kids" campaign theme and wove it through an array of outreach efforts. Through a coordinated series of email appeals, an online photo petition, an innovative direct mail card, and social media, Big Duck built a strong case for giving to support military kids. Along the way, we trained their in-house development and communications staff to create and manage their own campaigns downstream.

The Results

The "Stand Behind Military Kids" integrated fundraising campaign brought in over a half a million dollars, and cost 13¢ for every dollar raised. Over 300 people participated in the campaign’s photo-sharing campaign.
