Why I work at Big Duck:
I’m writing for good, which feeds my smug sense of self-righteousness.
What I think is just ducky:
Coffee, a fluttering knuckleball, Sunnyside (Queens!), Scotland, and laughing with the missus
What really ruffles my feathers:
Money-flooded politics, corporate-controlled media, inaccurate use of the term socialism, dried fruit
Life before Big Duck:
I grew up mostly in Kansas with stints in Florida, North Carolina, and Texas. After graduating from Sarah Lawrence College, I moved to NYC, and have now lived here longer than anywhere else. In fact, I’ve lived in my current apartment (Sunnyside, Queens!) longer than in any of my other homes. Previous employers have included the Jim Henson Company and Upshot New York. Just prior to working in my current position, I was a communications and development specialist for Hall Farm Center, a Vermont-based arts and education nonprofit organization.
Ask me about:
Writing (of course), dealing with creative temperaments, why comedies should win more Oscars, and the finest restaurant on the Isle of Mull
